Ocean Beach Engagement – Wedding Photographers in San Diego

Another awesome day in the life of two Temecula wedding photographers in San Diego! Going into engagement photo shoots I always try to get a feel for the couple. What is important to them?  Any locations they have been dying to go to? Are there any themes we can incorporate? Do they do anything strange for work that might be usable, if so will they even divulge that info and let me use it? Even if the photos could potentially be blackmail ;)  Yes, those are the questions I ask, its the wedding photographer in me…

So when Shannon let me know they were both in the medical field my mind started in. Hmmmm a Dr. and his Nurse, lots you could do with that. Fortunately for her she stepped in with the suggestion that we do engagement photos in Ocean Beach. Scrap the hospital scenario I had playing out in my head [maybe next time] and gimme a reason to head to my favorite beach city in San Diego. OB, ahhhhhh. The city just speaks to me. Not sure if its the burnout stoner vibe or all the bums all over the place but this place is mini Venice Beach and I love it. Lived there for a few years so I can claim it as a stomping ground [shout out to Ace Tattoo and Nico’s taco shop]  We started the engagement session by meeting at Pacific Shores bar. The place is a dive… and old, definitely the coolest place IMO in OB. Jess and I got there early so we broke it in with a drink and proceeded to rock this engagement shoot. Ocean Beach made for great photos and Shannon and Jeff were all giggles and tons of fun. Honestly, its not about the location of the shoot, its about the people in it. Put me in a barren desert with nothing around, still going to get awesome shots by focusing on the energy between the two people Im shooting. Thats the trick, if you want to call it that. Anyway, when you get two people together with this much chemistry it makes it easy.. drop em in OB [run down city storefronts, the alleyways, the beach and pier] and its a cinch. We all hung out for the better part of 2 hours, shooting, chatting and even scored a bite to eat together at our favorite mexican food joint.

Have I said I have the best job ever recently? Days like this solidify that. Hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I did taking em!
