Iron Mountain!<\/a> It sounds like some sort of extreme hiking destination\/ challenge, doesnt it!?\u00a0\u00a0 In all fairness it just might be, I didnt go up ;)\u00a0 YEahhhh,\u00a0 for this San Diego engagement<\/a> we would’ve been definitely overdressed for that hike up and definitely winded with our gear. \u00a0 Instead, we hung out low on the hill and used the beautiful landscape at the base while brave hikers around us ascended during golden hour. This place is definitely on my list of places to come back to though, for sure!\u00a0 I think that’s one of the coolest parts about doing engagement sessions… getting out there to explore a bit and checking out places I’ve never been and wouldn’t even know about or likely go to otherwise. Engaged couples will often ask after our initial meeting for our suggestions on shoot locations for their engagement photos… at which point I almost always throw it back on them by saying “wheres someplace you’ve been wanting to go?\u00a0 OR “are there any significant places to the both of you that would be meaningful to take your engagement pics at?” \u00a0 because in all serious truth I would rather NEVER repeat myself if I dont have to. Once ya start shooting the same places they become familiar and its all too easy to fall back on a known or go to shot because its easy and I’ve done it before. Challenging myself to shoot the same place differently the second time is the personal goal each time going out to a place that I’ve already been.\u00a0I LOVE shooting at new locations and getting a blank canvas to be creative with so when we were asked out to do this engagement session at iron mountain<\/a>, you know we were all in.\u00a0 We came up with a stunning little series of snaps from the hour, take a look :)<\/p>\n
