Palm Springs Elopement Photographer / Palm Springs City Hall + The Parker !!

Temecula Wedding Photographer rocking a Palm Springs Elopement at City Hall

Brand new Palm springs elopement photos are in the mix. I packed the bags for this one and blasted out to glorious Palm Springs! Now I know what you are thinking… “Dude, I hoped you packed a few shirts! The desert is hot as hell right now” … and you’d be correct.  However, as you can see by my man wearing a sports coat above, we took these pics over winter :)

LOL. There is no way I’m shooting out there right now. I have a family, with dependents and a mediocre life insurance policy at best… I have no interest dying any time soon. ;-)  In fact, hate to say it but you can’t even tempt me into the desert for 1/2 price rooms at ACE, Sagauro or any of the pool side resorts at this point. I’ll just hang out in Temecula by my pool, since its basically the same thing less a couple of degrees. PLUS! I’ve got a killer bartender on staff [I married her] and the drinks are not only free but made with so much LOVE nothing can compare.

Moving on!! When I got the call from these two to shoot a courthouse wedding in Palm Springs, I was down right off the bat. I dont get a chance to do many elopements in Palm Springs but I’ll tell ya I know that elopements in the desert are all the rage right now. And why not? its a cool vibe out here in winter. Not only that, eloping saves couples massive amounts of cash. Imagine, instead of going into debt 30K on one day you could actually afford to put it down on a new house and start your lives together in a much better place!?!

“But wait, Justin… you are a wedding photographer.. you cant say that. People book you all day for the biggest package you have!?!”

Meh.. I’m a punk rock kid inside. I’d rather see ya break the mold than climb right into it. Elope if that’s you. Have a backyard bash, if thats you… ya know.. go get a taco truck and party in a backyard somewhere with 40 of your closest friends.  OR spend $400 a plate at the Waldorf if thats you.  I may be one of the few wedding professionals that doesn’t endorse throwing loads of cash at the wedding industry… but that’s me.

In fact,  if Jess n I were to do it again I’d totally elope in Palm Springs or do a Joshua Tree elopement. OR maybe just head clear out of state and never look back… hard to say.

I met these two [who will remain nameless due to Hollywood privacy requests] down at the Palm Springs City Hall. A funky old building with the charm you would expect from something built in Palm Springs in the 1950’s. This was one of the quickest ceremonies I have ever been a part of. It was heartfelt and perfect.  A few quick pics out front and we were on our way to another one of the best photo taking spots in all of the desert, The Parker.

Now I don’t know what was said exactly but security at the Parker initially stopped us and told us we couldn’t take pics. Maybe a $20 was slipped, an autograph signed, advanced tickets to a movie were given out? I kid! but regardless we made it through and kept shooting along the edge of the property. Making sure not to disturb any guests that may or may not have been high profile hanging around the pool.  A cool experience with a couple of new friends and all in all a great set of photos and memories to go with it.

A rad day to shoot an elopement in Palm Springs, universe give me more!
